Perché consigliamo questo libro: Consiglio questo libro perché è un middle grade delizioso, storico e gotico al punto giusto, a prova di fifoni e anche di cuori teneri. La protagonista è adorabile, così come tutti i personaggi di questa vicenda sono assolutamente piacevoli da leggere, che abbiano o meno un ruolo positivo nella storia. In effetti, gli aspetti sovrannaturali della trama sono una peculiarità di questo libro, ma non il fulcro della storia, che racconta un percorso di crescita, un mistero e un periodo storico insieme, e mescola sapientemente tutti questi elementi. Inoltre il libro è scritto molto bene, tanto che ancora adesso, a quasi un anno di distanza da quando l’ho letto, ricordo di aver notato l’impatto dello stile sulla narrazione.
